James Edwards

James Edwards, MS., LCPC, is the Director for Juvenile Probation and Detention Services for the 19th Judicial Circuit Court of Lake County. In this capacity, James leads the Juvenile Division of the Courts that includes the Hulse Juvenile Detention Center, FACE-IT Residential Program, and Juvenile Probation.

James has nearly thirty years of experience in the Criminal Justice Field and previously held leadership positions in Cook and McHenry Counties and for the Osage Tribe located near Tulsa, Oklahoma.

James is a strong advocate for evidence-based programming and has developed effective juvenile and adult intervention programs that are strength based and cost effective. James holds a master’s degree in criminology and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.
