Michael Karner

Michael has worked in education since 2007. He taught mathematics, Spanish, ELL, credit recovery, night school, and summer school at Zion Benton High School. He served as an Assistant Principal at Zion Central Middle School. He also served as the Principal for the Regional Safe School Program of Lake County that served grades 6-12. Michael has also coached varsity football at Antioch Community High School. He is currently the Regional Superintendent of Schools for Lake County which oversees 45 public schools, 27 private schools, 3 special education cooperatives, and 2 charter school districts.
